Donate a Car
If you have a vehicle that you are thinking of trading in or selling, consider donating it to the Alzheimer’s Association Donate-A-Car Program, a partnership with Insurance Auto Auctions, Inc. that accepts most vehicles, including cars, trucks, trailers, boats and RVs.
When your vehicle is sold, the proceeds go to the Alzheimer’s Association, supporting those impacted by Alzheimer’s disease while advancing crucial research, and this contribution may also provide you with tax benefits.
Donate your vehicle in three effortless steps
- Donate online by completing the Vehicle Donation Form, or donate by calling the Donate-A-Car processing center toll-free, seven days a week at 800.240.0160.
- Once your form is processed, a towing service will call you within two to four business days to schedule an appointment time to pick up your vehicle.
- You will receive a receipt upon pickup; if your vehicle sells for more than $500, you will receive a postcard with the value for tax purposes.

Our car program accepts most vehicles and vessels, running or not, including but not limited to cars, trucks, trailers, boats and RVs; exceptions include older vehicles whose value would not offset the cost of towing. To find out if we can accept your vehicle, please finish the donation process.
How do I donate my vehicle?
Donate online by completing the Vehicle Donation Form, or donate by calling the Donate-A-Car processing center toll-free, seven days a week at 800.240.0160. We would like the title to the vehicle, but if you do not have it, call the Donate-A-Car processing center at 800.240.0160 or email [email protected] to find out if other arrangements may be made.
How will my vehicle be picked up?
The processing center will arrange to have your vehicle towed away at a scheduled time by a professionally licensed, bonded and insured towing company. We are able to pick up accepted vehicles in all fifty of the United States, seven days a week.
How long will it take to pick up my vehicle?
Once your form is processed, a towing service will call you within two to four business days to schedule an appointment time to pick up your vehicle. If you need your vehicle to be picked up sooner, please let us know, as the processing center can often accommodate rush orders.
Is my donation tax deductible?
The Alzheimer’s Association is classified with the IRS as a 501(c)(Trio) charitable organization. Donations to the Association are tax deductible to the total extent of the law. Because individual tax situations vary, please check with a tax professional to determine what, if any, tax benefit you may receive from your donation. sp;
How will my vehicle’s value be determined for tax purposes?
Upon pickup of your vehicle, you will receive a receipt; if your vehicle sells for more than $500, you will also receive a postcard with the value for tax purposes.
