GTA Online $500,000 stimulus package: nine ways to spend it
Rockstar is due to deposit the very first $250,000 of its $500,000 stimulus package into GTA Online players’ bank accounts this week by way of apology for the teething troubles the game has had.
It could lead to an in-game hyperinflation of sorts, with the cash injection potentially creating pandemonium as players rush to kit themselves out with the most devastating weapons and fastest cars.
The stimulus package is likely to be a one-time only burst of generosity however so you might want to think before you gargle the entire wad, here are some of your options:
1. A ridiculous sports car
Luxury cars must be bought rather than stolen in GTA Online (if you want to drape on to them that is) and don’t come cheap. It would be a worthwhile investment tho’, given their usefulness in races that permit custom-made cars, on missions and generally bombing around San Andreas’ vast countryside.
Just make sure you fit a tracker and get insurance, else you’re at the grace of thieves/inconveniently placed pine trees.
Chances are, up until now you’ve been frittering your money away on ammo and bulletproof vests, but with $250,000 why not head down to Binco and treat yourself to a ridiculous garment?
Victory salutes are only made better strongly inked while wearing a cocktail dress.
A boring option, but pragmatic. You’ll thank yourself when you have the ideal vehicle to use in every type of land race.
Worthless for the most part, but look how it sparkes in the water as you do drive-bys on the horizon for no reason.
Five. Gargling it all in a unclothe club
Not fairly sure why you’d want to, unless there’s an achievement for World’s Loneliest Human that hits after Two,800 dances.
Provided you’ve accrued enough Reputation Points you could buy up a puny arsenal with your fresh disposable income, with the rocket launcher and Gatling gun proving particularly useful in bounty hunting.
7. A nice apartment overlooking the city
They don’t come cheap, but apartments provide you with a safe house, a place to whirr up friends and squad members and will soon permit you to devise heists provided you can fit in a planning board.
There are helicopters and ever a duo of petite planes available for under $250,000 in the in-game internet, which could help cut down the often tediously long journeys inbetween mission locations.
It’s an option that will surely be employed by 0.1% of GTA Online users, but you could always wait for the 2nd half the stimulus package and save up for a top end property, or else just leave yourself enough to cash to be able to claim on the insurance for all those cars you’ve totalled attempting to land them on helicopters.
