A 57-year-old man is dead after being hit Sunday by a possibly stolen Lexus.
Texas City resident Valentina Demon Jones-Brown, 26, was driving the Lexus, preparing to inject the intersection of Highway three and FM one thousand seven hundred sixty five in La Marque at harshly 9:30 p.m. when a speeding Ford F-150 slammed into the back of his car, said Lt. Both cars burst into flames after the crash.
The blaze trapped the foot person inwards of the Ford, League City resident Howard Lane, Spruill said.

By the time police arrived, the Ford was entirely engulfed in flames. Lane did not show up to be alive, Spruill said.
Lane was later pronounced dead.
Officers did free Jones-Brown from the Lexus. The preliminary investigation indicated that Jones-Brown had stolen the Lexus earlier that evening from the Mainland Center Hospital in Texas City, where he had been taken for a mental health evaluation, Spruill said.
Jones-Brown is believed to have left the hospital and gotten into the Lexus, in which two women were sitting. The women ran away from the car. Police believe Jones-Brown stole the car and escaped the hospital, speeding south on Highway three where he would crash into Lane’s car, Spruill said.
Jones-Brown’s condition was not clear Monday morning.
