Japanese automaker Toyota ( TM ) said Wednesday it’s recalling another Five.8 million vehicles around the globe because of Takata’s exploding airbags. That brings the total number of vehicles Toyota has called back since the commence of the Takata scandal to 23.1 million.

The U.S. is not included in this round, the automaker said, because it has already recalled the models there that were produced during the relevant periods of time. In all, Toyota has so far recalled more than Four.Five million vehicles in the U.S.

DETROIT -Subaru is recalling more than 100,000 of its top-selling models in the U.S. because a turbocharger air pump can run continuously, overheat and could cause fires.

The recall covers certain two thousand seven to two thousand nine Legacy and Outback vehicles, some two thousand eight to two thousand fourteen Imprezas and certain two thousand nine to two thousand thirteen Foresters. All the cars and SUVs have turbocharged engines. Subaru says in government documents that a relay controlling a secondary air injection pump can fail, causing the pump to run continuously. If it overheats, it can melt and catch fire.

The company reported two fires in government documents but did not list any injuries.

Dealers will substitute the relay at no cost to owners. Subaru doesn’t have a schedule yet for the recall to begin.

Ford says fever generated when the seat belt pre-tensioners deploy can cause cables to break. If that happens the belts may not hold people. Ford says it knows of two crashes and two injuries related to the problem, according to the Detroit News.

Pre-tensioners tighten seat belts when they sense that cars are stopping.

Dealers will inject insulation into the pre-tensioners to protect the cables from warmth at no cost to owners. The recall is expected to begin on Jan. 16.

Japanese automaker Toyota ( TM ) said Wednesday it’s recalling another Five.8 million vehicles around the globe because of Takata’s exploding airbags. That brings the total number of vehicles Toyota has called back since the begin of the Takata scandal to 23.1 million.

The U.S. is not included in this round, the automaker said, because it has already recalled the models there that were produced during the relevant periods of time. In all, Toyota has so far recalled more than Four.Five million vehicles in the U.S.

DETROIT -Subaru is recalling more than 100,000 of its top-selling models in the U.S. because a turbocharger air pump can run continuously, overheat and could cause fires.

The recall covers certain two thousand seven to two thousand nine Legacy and Outback vehicles, some two thousand eight to two thousand fourteen Imprezas and certain two thousand nine to two thousand thirteen Foresters. All the cars and SUVs have turbocharged engines. Subaru says in government documents that a relay controlling a secondary air injection pump can fail, causing the pump to run continuously. If it overheats, it can melt and catch fire.

The company reported two fires in government documents but did not list any injuries.

Dealers will substitute the relay at no cost to owners. Subaru doesn’t have a schedule yet for the recall to begin.
